I discovered Cloud Cakes one Saturday afternoon, while exploring the weekend street markets around Paris. This is my go-to place when I feel like a matcha latte and a croissant.
Cloud Cakes is a vegan coffee shop that serves incredible desserts, various types of lattes, smoothies, breakfast and lunch. They serve breakfast until 11:30am and lunch from 12 to 3pm. They are open for brunch on Sundays.
Currently their lunch offerings include a summer bowl, a soup, or a salad. Their breakfasts vary and include crepes, breakfast burritos, and salads. Their smoothies are also excellent — they are fruit based with superfood options.
Their croissants are among the best dairy-free croissants I have tasted. They have perfected the flavour and texture of this traditionally buttery treat. They also have chocolate and almond options, and often I can’t resist grabbing a few to go.
The place gets busy around breakfast and lunch time, so if you want more of a lively atmosphere come around then. Otherwise, if you prefer a quiet place to hang out or work, I recommend coming before or after lunch.
The staff are really friendly and the decor is cute with soft lighting and geometric art on the walls. There are tables to sit at or sofas if you feel like relaxing. The music is generally chilled with a fun vibe, ranging from jazz to acoustic to indie rock and alternative pop.
I like working here because the food is good, the service is excellent, and the wi fi is really fast. It’s also a good place to hang out and meet people, and the customers are often friendly and talkative.
If you’re in Paris and in the mood for a latte — whether it be coffee, matcha, beetroot, or turmeric — and you prefer your drinks and desserts to be dairy-free, this is the place to go. When I’m in Paris, you’ll find me there on my laptop a few times a week.
