We arrived in Nice at the perfect time of year. The sun was out, the weather was beginning to warm up, and tourist season hadn’t started yet.
It was a magical experience being there during the Spring. Most of the people we encountered seemed to be local. There was a vibe in the air, but it wasn’t insanely busy like it got towards the beginning of summer.
It didn’t take us long to fall in love with Nice.
By the time we arrived in the Côte d'Azur, neither of us had seen the ocean for almost a year. It was refreshing to be able to walk along the Promenade and discover secret spots.
We also loved the local food we discovered, especially as the marinara pizza and socca (a pancake made from chickpea flour) - both of which happened to be accidentally vegan.
Our time in Nice was the calm before the storm. It was the quiet period before the summer kicked off, which turned out to be a crazy, rollercoaster ride that ultimately led us to a beautiful home in Porto, Portugal. I'll share that story soon.
We’re glad we took time to recharge before the summer started.
