I was already a couple of weeks into my stay in Paris when I discovered WILD & the MOON. Since then, it has become a regular spot for me to eat, work, and meet people.
The food and drinks are excellent. Think smoothies, juices, warm and cold plant-based meals infused with intentional herbs, spices, superfoods, and adaptogens.
The flavours and textures are well constructed, the dishes are delicious, and their desserts are healthy enough to have for breakfast. This is the type of food that leaves you feeling light and energized afterwards.
My favourite drinks include the Matcha Latte (infused with spirulina and vanilla), Black Gold (almonds, activated charcoal, dates, vanilla, sea salt), and Coffee Chaga Shaka (almonds, iced coffee, chaga, vanilla, coconut oil, dates, sea salt).
My go-to breakfast is the Matcha Bowl (I have been on a matcha tip lately). My favourite dessert is the Raw Chocolate pudding, and their truffle balls are also great. Their Spirulina Popcorn is an excellent snack when you are on the go.
They offer a different hot dish every day. Today’s plat du jour was a Thai curry, which I enjoyed. I can also vouch for the Peruvian Bowl. There are a variety of ready-made options, including salads, noodle bowls, energy bars, and raw crackers with nut cheese. One of my favourite dishes is the Soba Noodles, pictured below.
The decor is clean with soft lighting and loads of indoor plants. The music ranges from hip hop to soul, funk, and indie rock. On a good day you will hear it playing loud. This place gets busy and there is generally a fun vibe, which makes it an awesome spot to hang out.
WILD & the MOON have two cafés in Paris. Both are situated in the 3rd Arrondissement, which is close to the city centre with easy access to a number of Metro stations. The Wild Bar (a café and juice bar) is close to Square du Temple. The Wild Lab (a smaller venue, mostly for take-aways) is close to the Arts et Métiers station.
Here’s WILD & the MOON’s manifesto (taken from their website):
Wild & The Moon is based on the simple belief that food should be good for you, good for the planet and above all delicious.
Our food and juices are 100% organic, cold-pressed, plant-based, gluten-free and unpasteurized. We bring a little bit of nature to our busy city lives.
Through food, we align with the rhythm of nature. This is slow food set to an urban beat.
We need nourishment to grow, blossom, seed and spread…
Pop in for a juice, latte, lunch, or dessert next time you’re in Paris.
